Teito stifled a yawn as he reentered the dorm room, bascule held firm in one hand. His clothes, slightly tattered, testified to the rough morning he'd had, but there weren't any injuries this morning the way there had been others. His morning jogs had gotten a lot more interesting since the kor had arrived on campus, and Teito was getting back earlier since he'd started skipping the additional combat practice. There wasn't much point when he was tired from so much real fighting.
"G'morning," he greeted the bishop with a weary smile. "How're you feeling this morning? Any worse?"
Frau glanced at Teito, his face showing the boy his thoughts rather clearly. What do you think? He turned away and reached for the coat in his closet. After pulling it off the hanger and getting it on he turned back to Teito. "After today I might end up feeling a lot closer to the living dead." Seriously, dead men shouldn't feel this much pain. With fall approaching the temperatures were starting to drop as well. That was the last thing he needed.
"We'll go find somewhere nice to rest when this is all over," Teito promised, a little concerned as he set his bascule aside and retrieved his apprentices' robes. This did have to end eventually, right? Right. "We just have to hold out until then. It'll be alright, Frau. ...Won't it?"
"Sounds good to me," Frau told his apprentice as he finished getting ready for the day. He reached out and ruffled Teito's hair, giving the boy a warm smile. "You're right. It'll be fine." Teito always managed to make him feel like things would work out. There were, after all, some good points to this episode. A lot of wars meant Frau was able to eat. It was a nice change.
