In the courtyard~/for Tsuz and whoever else

This was not good. Not good at all. Linali rubbed her ring-free ankles one more time, on the verge of panic. Her Innocence was gone, scars and all; she could feel it missing, like someone had dug into her body and pulled out a part of her. A strange feeling was trying to fill the void, but she was fighting it off as best she could. Yun-qi wound his way around her ankles, looking up at her with his knowing green eyes.

Add to that the fact that she was zoning out and finding herself doing strange things and Linali had to wonder just what was going on. People were acting strange again so she imagined it was the island's doing, but her Innocence just disappearing from her body like that had her on edge.

Linali blinked down at him for a second before smiling knowingly. "You're hungry, aren't you? No matter what, I guess you're still Tsuzuki." She heaved him off of her lap before standing up. "Let's go to the bookstore and find you something good to eat. It's repayment for helping me feel better."

Tsuzuki started bounding up and down like a pogo sick, his tail wagging frantically. As always Tsuzuki was always up for some good food.

She had to reach down and give his ears another rub; he was so adorable, honestly. "Come on then." She led the way to the bookstore, taking deep breaths of springtime air and watching the puppy frolic.

Frolic was exactly what Tsuzuki did. Or at least he did when he wasn't busy tripping on his own feet and falling head over heels into the grass. He tended to do that a lot.

When they made it to the bookstore, Linali hit on a new problem: should she get him something suitable for a puppy or some kind of dessert like he'd usually like? "Ah. What would you like?" she asked, wondering just how he was going to answer.

Tsuzuki tipped his head to one side in thought before he gave a little yip and curled into a ball. Hopefully she'd get the idea and start guessing from that.

Linali watched him, just as confused as ever. "You want something... round? Cake? Pie?" Wouldn't those be bad for a puppy?

He gave a yip when she said round, but shook his head at the cake and pie. He was thinking of something else. Getting the first part wouldn't be bad... the second part would be a lot harder.

"Ummmm..." Linali thought hard. "How about a doughnut? Is that what you want?"

Tsuzuki shook his head once again. Come on, Linali! You were running out of round object that he could eat.

She put a hand over her eyes. What else was round? "Ah... Cookies?"

Tsuzuki yipped excitedly, bouncing up and down a moment. Part one solved! Now... how did he get her to say "peanut butter?" Oh crap...

Linali knelt down next to him and rubbed behind his ears. "Should you really be eating cookies? Won't that make you sick?"

What?! Cookies make him sick?! No waaaaaay!

...She could tell from the look on his puppy face that he totally disagreed. "Fine then. But if they make you feel bad, no whining." She moved across the store to find the cookies. What flavor would a puppy like?
