A tiny squeak answered his call, and Miku-chan stood up and peeked over the edge of the fountain, her amber eyes filled with tears. "H-H-H... Hello." She continued to shiver and tremble.

Her eyes widened as he grabbed her hand and she did her best not to jerk away, but she was incredibly frightened. "Wh-Where am I?" she asked with a tremble in her voice. "Miku-chan wants to go home." She let him pull her along by the hand.

Just because Mikuru was little didn't mean that Gray didn't have a feeling something bad was going on. He glanced out the window to get rid of the fear that Mikuru was sitting out there. Of course she wouldn't be silly enough to do it... only... There was no doubt. That red hair couldn't belong to anyone else. "We're going outside for a bit," he told his eight year old self as he headed for the door. Instead of complaining, little Gray bolted to his feet. He rushed down the hallway, bubbling with excitement.

When the boys reached Mikuru, Gray knelt down beside her. "Hey, what are you doing out here all alone?" he asked quietly. Had Mikuru not met her younger self yet? Gray really doubted that if she had she'd let the kid be alone. Little Gray had to wonder why the girl thought hiding behind a fountain would keep her hidden from the cold, but he stayed quiet.

Looking up at the new people, Miku-chan shrank back away from them and squeaked, tears flowing freely. "I-I don't know. Nii-san, do you know where Miku-chan is?" She'd been told over and over to stop speaking in the third person, but in her distress it was coming out.

Gray reached out and gently rested his hand on her head. "You're at Moksa. It's a school. I'm sure Mikuru is in her room still. We could go find her if you want." Little Gray scooted closer, peering around his older form. "Why're you cryin'?" he asked.

She hiccuped loudly. "M-Miku-chan is Mikuru. I'm here." When the younger Gray spoke, she clung to the older one's sleeve and peered around his arm. "M-Miku-chan's scared," she whimpered as her whole body shook from nerves and the cold.
