HALLOWEEN EVENT // The Park

Oct 30, 2009 19:09

The park at the north end of the campus seems to have become the center of activity for the night -- a wooden floor has been laid down for dancing with the musicians standing by (you'd be surprised how musical bones can be), and sneering jack-o-lanterns compete with a roaring bonfire for the most dramatic lighting. There's also a buffet, and while ( Read more... )

In response, Linali grabbed his hand and pulled him out onto the floor, off to the side so that Frau and Rebecca would still have plenty of room. "You do remember our lessons, right?" she asked teasingly, putting her hand on his shoulder and grabbing his other hand in hers.

Frau chuckled. Of course, a genius. Too bad smarts had nothing to do with dancing otherwise Frau might be in trouble. Frau noticed the sudden narrowing of Rebecca's eyes and followed her gaze. Ah. Scorpion and his girlfriend. He smiled softly and leaned down to whisper in Rebecca's ear. "Shall we give them a show that they can't match up with?"

Atem was blushing now, though he tried to hide it behind the scarf. "Lessons... Of course." But he seemed to not remember where he was supposed to put his other hand. Hesitantly, he rested it on Linali's side with a touch that was almost feather-light, as though he was not quite ready to actually touch her, and then looked at her for confirmation. He appeared to be considerably out of his element and was oblivious to the challenge that Frau and Rebecca were plotting.

Linali, likewise, didn't even seem to notice Rebecca and Frau's challenge; she was too busy torturing teasing Atem and giggling. Freeing her hand from his for just a second, she put his hand where she wanted it on her waist and pressed it down, giving him a glare to make her point. "Since you don't seem to remember for some strange reason, I'll remind you about the steps." With that, she started to move her feet and waited for Atem to mimic her.

Frau grinned too. While he wasn't super pig on competition, he was totally willing to display his superiority, especially when he was displaying it to Atem. He took Rebecca's additions in stride and added a few of his own. Unfortunately, he knew that they were going to have to do a bit more if they wanted to blow their competition out of the water.

Atem seemed to have forgotten anything and everything he might have known about dancing. He was plainly flustered over Linali's insistence on where he put his hands, and being flustered didn't at all help out in the 'finesse' department. Linali was stuck with a rather bumbling partner, one who seemed to be leaning away from her slightly, kept almost stepping on her feet, and was almost constantly sending his other partner glances that were uncharacteristically panicky.

Linali's giggling grew into all-out laughter at Atem's spazzing; her raven hair flew as she tossed her head back, making no effort to conceal her amusement. "Am I going to have to have Yuugi-kun come out and show you how it's done?" she teased, ready to pull him to the side and grab his other self. "I'm sure he'd see it as a competition," she added innocently.
