What: Kaito's still upset over losing his things in the fight. A little card magic for a little audience never failed to cheer him up!

Risa rarely went to the cafeteria alone but she had nothing else to do right now and she was boooored. Riku was out being mopey so she decided to go and find people who were happy to spend her time with.

Lucky for her, she found Kaito in the cafeteria with her. Wouldn't he be surprised to see Runt in her oversized handbag, sticking his floppy-eared self out of the top and sniffing as she moved. "Kaito!! Hi!!"

Pouting, Risa blushed when his hand was close to her face. "Then how does a magician become a magician if no one teaches them?"

"They have to become a magician's apprentice first," he said with a nod. He casually tore up the card he magicked from behind Risa's ear and gathered the pieces in his fist. "It's a long process too," he said as he tapped his enclosed fist, counted to three, and opened it again to reveal the exact same card in perfect condition-- Risa's name shining boldly on the front to prove it wasn't a different one.

"How long a process?"Risa was so enthralled with Kaito's slight of hand that she lost all sense of rational thought. But, then again, she wasn't a very rational person to begin with. "...Can I be your apprentice?"

Kaito tilted his head. "Aren't you my assistant~?" he asked teasingly.

"Can't I be both?" She asked, throwing him a beautiful smile. "Or are there magician rules against that?"

Oooh, that smile. Kaito blushed slightly. "A-ah, well... there isn't..." he stammered, completely thrown off guard.

Risa knew very well that she could dazzle with that smile but she was more focused on that cute blush that came from Kaito. "So I can be both?"

Kaito laughed. "We'll see!" he said with a wink.

[mrs_dark]

Her smile turned into a pout, her eyes mirroring her emotion. "Kaitoooo~ Why can't I be both? Do you already have an apprentice?"

"Eh? No, not yet..." he said with a laugh. He was a bit too young to be taking on apprentices yet. He had just turned 18 that day, after all. Well... according to Moksa time.

"Then I can be your apprentice! I think this is settled, then!" Risa was damned it she wasn't going to learn at least one magic trick. Kaito knew magic, he had to have an apprentice -sometime- and Risa wanted to learn...What was the problem?

Kaito laughed. She really was persistent. "Tell you what!" he said with a grin, "If you learn how to do a magic trick on your own and then come back and show me, I'll let you be my assistant!"

With her eyes set, she nodded at him. "All right...You just wait, I'm going to be the best apprentice there is!" She was nothing if not determined...but now she just had to figure out how to do a magic trick without any guides. "Do they have cards at the book store?"

Kaito nodded. "They have an entire aisle of magic tricks!" he said.

"Why don't you come with me and help me pick one out?" She asked, moving to pick Runt up and put him back in his travel bag. "Please?"
