Mai was a combination of bored and bothered, which had lead her to the pub. She intended to enjoy some wine and try to forget about the entire incident with Dartz, and the memories of her time as a part of the cult that it brought back up. Not to mention, she didn't feel like shopping for once, and therefore had little to distract entertain herself with. So there she was.

And, stepping into the pub and making her way to the bar, she realized she was apparently not the only one with the same idea. "Hey, hon." She greeted the dejected-looking Hakkai as she approached, taking a seat at the bar nearby.

Hakkai was startled out of his thoughts at Mai's approach. What had brought her here? He couldn't come up with much besides the recent chaos with Dartz. He didn't know here very well, so getting her soul stolen was all he had on hand to account for her sudden arrival at the bar. He doubted that was the only driving factor behind the visit, however. He gave her a small nod of the head, but nothing more.

Mai smiled back at him and nodded also, before turning back to the bartender and ordering herself a mixed drink. Looking back over at Hakkai, she wasn't sure if she should bother him too much.. But whatever he was upset about, surely it would help to talk about it? And if not, she'd leave him alone; she wasn't going to press, after all. "So what's going wrong for you, hon?" She asked, not bothering the 'what brings you here' openr, which was always obvious.

Hakkai gave Mai the best smile he could muster at the moment, which, surprisingly, wasn't bad at all. He'd gotten quiet good at cloaking his feelings behind a simple smile. "Get right to the point, don't you?" he asked lightly. That was fine. "The rain," he answered. Obviously there was more to it than that, but Hakkai could be vague for a bit. Being vague had its advantages. Many pushed for a little bit until you gave another vague answer that seemed to be satisfactory.
