A completely black cat peeked out from behind the tree Dante was lounging under. He didn't know this man, but he seemed lonely. The kitten crept out from behind the tree, walking carefully, and stopped near the man's shoulder.
"Nya?" He tilted his head quizzically, looking up into Dante's face.
Linali sped up to match his longer stride, laughing merrily. "Is it really that great?" she asked with a smile, tilting her head to the side. "There are a lot of things here I haven't tried. This is actually even my first time going to school!"
"Oh, I see. I haven't been here that long either." Yun-qi mewed in her arms and she stopped to set him down. "You go straight home. Okay?" The kitten mewed again and headed for the dorms.
The cafe came into view as Linali thought of a new question for the man. "What classes are you taking this year?"
Dante smiled, "it is. Pizza is a lot like sex. Even if it's not very good it's still good." He grinned. though truth be told, he was still a virgin. I mean, he was only 19 still. Though he had fooled around with some girls.
He chuckled, "I'm not sure. I've only been to one and it was boring. I'm thinking about going to demon hunting one though. See if this guy knows what he's talking about."
At that, Linali blushed horribly, turning her face away so Dante couldn't see the dark stain across her cheeks. "I-I-I see," she stammered out, feeling like her face was on fire. Ever the sheltered child, just the mention of the word was enough to almost completely halt her speech.
She tried to compose herself. "Who's teaching demon hunting?" She kept her eyes determinedly downwards.
Dante shrugged, "Some kid named Nero, who insists we know each other. I've never met the kid in my life." He rolled his eyes, "It's really annoying. Not only that he has the nerve to look like me."
Linali, finally composed, reached for the door handle when they reached the cafe. "He looks like you and says he knows you? How odd." She shrugged. "Maybe he's a long-lost family member?"
Linali noticed the sad look and gave Dante a sweet smile. "I understand that. My big brother is the only family I have left."
She sat down, legs tucked neatly to one side and her back straight before smoothing her skirt and looking back up at Dante. She grinned at his positioning and shook her head; she was used to boys. "Is there anyone from your home here with you? I only know one person from home here but I've made a lot of great friends."
Dante shook his head, "Nah. I just got what's on on my person right now," He shrugged, "That's all I need. I'm used to not really having anyone to rely on."
"Really?" Linali leaned forward, her chin on her hands, her elbows on the table. This Dante was becoming more and more interesting, and Linali wanted to know more about him. "May I ask why? If not, I'll be quiet and we can talk about whatever else."
Dante chuckled, "We'll just say I had a dysfunctional family." The server came over and Dante order a pizza with the works except anchovies and two sodas.
"I see." Linali folded her hands into her lap as she listened to Dante order. She gave the server a smile as she left, then looked back across the table. "I don't remember my parents very well, but my brother's dysfunctional enough for a whole family by himself. I still love him though." She smiled with a slight tilt of the head.
"I see," He shook his head, not really understanding. He and Vergil have always hated each other, he didn't understand how people could love their siblings and get along with them, "I can't remember a time when I wasn't fighting with my brother. But that's talk about something else," He said, not liking the conversation. It was getting too personal.
"Alright then." Linali leaned forward, hoping she hadn't offended him. "You seem really mature, Dante-san. Just how old are you anyways?" The pizza arrived, and Linali gawked at it, unsure what exactly she was supposed to do. How were they going to eat THAT?
Wide-eyed, Linali watched him inhale the food. Careful her fingers didn't get in the way of Dante's gnashing teeth, she picked up a slice of pizza and took a small bite. Her eyes lit up as she took another bite; he'd been right! "This is delicious!" She set down her slice to wipe her mouth.
"Nya?" He tilted his head quizzically, looking up into Dante's face.
