This is great. That was an interesting way to dispose of a pre-zombified corpse.
Yep, Halloween is the worst time for a zombie apocalypse to get off the ground.
I love World War Z, and I think you captured the tone wonderfully. :)

:: Bows:: Thanks for the kind words! I love World War Z to the moon and back: it's a very original way to write a zombie novel, and the interview form makes it feel all the more real and all the more scary.

I work in a grocery store (in the checkout, no less; I admit, the characters are inspired by several co-workers, former and current), so I got the idea for a story like this ages ago, when we had a blackout in the neighborhood around the store and the store generator kicked in, leaving us with about a third the usual lights. Had to run back to get a non-leaking gallon of milk for someone, and it was creepy in the back of the store! I kept expecting something to jump out from the pools of shadows, so I started thinking of what could happen if there was a zombie attack on a grocery store: places to hide, what to use to fight the zombies, or dispose of pre-turned corpses.

Coworkers are sometimes the best source for zombie fodder - I mean characters. ;)
My workplace creeps me out sometimes, too. We have to do a final walkthrough every night to make sure everyone is gone. There are tall, narrow windows set in the wall at regular intervals, and I keep thinking I'm going to see someone standing outside of one, staring in. I usually imagine zombies. It would be one of the worst places to get trapped, though. My zombie plan include getting the hell out of the building ASAP.
