Our tree went up on Tuesday, but we finally decorated it last night.  Our musical accompaniment was Jay's Christmas Collection which includes such classics as "who put the dick on the snowman".  I had to click past a few songs, but mostly I was tolerant.

oh, pati. What a pretty tree, and what a great story.

I don't have a tree this year. I just got my stuff out, put lights in the windows and a few things here and there. In my rottings I found the stocking and ornaments that I had or that people had given me for Leona. And I cried, too.

Bless you, and Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, Happy Solstice...

And I hope I hope you don't hold it against iwokeup that that person has no manners and even less class. While Christmas brings out the best in some folks, it seems to bring out troll behaviour in others.

I really like having a tree. It's important to me. I would have to be really sad to skip it.
No prob about that person, I deleted the comment and banned him. that's what I get for having public posts!
big hugs!

Great post! I left all my ornaments with my parents when I went to grad school and this first Christmas together, Roger and I realized that although we both enjoy Christmas greatly, neither of us had decorations. No tree this year, but over the years my uncle had given me Nutcrackers. Roger was delighted as I unwrapped these little guys and placed them around the room. I bought a small packet of red bows to tie to the stairwell railings. It's "Christmasy" enough in here. Next year, a tree.
