PITCH ME A TELEVISION SHOW

Okay, my collegue and writing partner has an audience with an executive looking for new television shows. This is basically a pitching session she asked for. Shows could be an hour or 30 minutes and anything is acceptable, she says, although I looked the company up and they make suitable-for-family television (still for grown-ups ( Read more... )

Hey, I never said I needed good ideas! I like to think we can make anything at least remotely interesting... A show 'bout nothing though? It would never work!*

Well, let me check my notes...

Okay, I once mentioned an idea about mixing CSI and SF as a sort of CSI:Stargate. The big trouble with that is that you want real science or else it would be crap. Thus you need a hard SF writer in your stable, one who knows some biochemistry. Someone like Julie Czernada.

There was the idea for a series I called Reckless.

I've also always wanted to see a series that was for Startrek what Barney Miller was for cop shows. Again the writing would be paramount, as there would only really be one set, which would be a small room at Starfleet Intelligence where these six guys sit in a room and try to deal with the strange stuff going on in the Federation every day.

You may have noticed a trend towards SF, but that is my favorite TV genre.
