Something that might have gotten overlooked in the Grammys this past weekend had nothing to do with Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, and any Red Carpet craziness.

The competition for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists consisted of:

Baba Yetu - Christopher Tin, arranger (Christopher Tin, Soweto Gospel Choir & Royal Philharmonic Orchestra)

You know that if grammies were more international, Nobuo Uematsu would have won awards years ago? And he has, in Japan. In my book, he's a 20th century composer, like Piazzolla and Rachmaninov.

Anyway, I love some of the music in WoW. That tango in the Scarlet Monastery... It gives me goosebumps, but I can never find it on youtube.

Well, the Grammys are notorious for being a bastion of conservative thinking; after all, the first winner of the Heavy Metal category back in the late 80's was Jethro Tull when groups such as Metallica were nominated. I've even read some articles where the Grammys were first devised as a way to keep those pesky rock and roll fans at bay, and it shows.

Anyway, I love some of the music in WoW. That tango in the Scarlet Monastery... It gives me goosebumps, but I can never find it on youtube.

I know what you mean. I tried hunting for that myself and gave up. Given all of the music in WoW, I had a hard time narrowing it down to two choices --I was thisclose to choosing Grizzly Hills or Orgrimmar-- but I stuck to the melancholy of Silvermoon and the stoic sadness of Thunder Bluff.
