Making Light has an interesting post about "astroturfing," with links and discussion.

(Quick def: think "grassroots" only quietly paid for and organized by corporations and/or political parties. In other words, that person commenting on your blog might actually be a paid shill.)

It seems to me the old game of being a ringer. Every organization on everyside of the spectrum has ringers. The trick is to find them and root them out. Of course, sometimes a suspected ringer is just a troll. A good ringer is more subtle.

Merlin Missy, I've said it before on Dwayne McDuffie's forum, but Gemstone Disney Comics are even more fun and kid friendly than Johnny DC.

Reads link. Huh. How about that? ;)

Disney comics are NOTHING like Disney cartoons except that they share some of the same characters. Carl Barks and Don Rosa's Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck stories are frelling brilliant whereas Disney cartoons are boring and lame. At LEAST look for Don Rosa's The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck in your local comics shop. If after reading it, you don't like Disney comics I'll leave you alone. But I think you'd really love it.
