Almost all of my comments up till now have been about Flash, but I've also appreciated the way you've portrayed Vixen, and the others who mourn. Mari's pain just about radiated off the screen a few times, and her final scene with Wally was just so... "appropriate" is just a pale version of the word I want but can't seem to find at the moment.
I've said it before, I'll say it again; the really good stories have a resonance to them, like a bell that rings true, and the reverberations echo all across the fandom. This one's going to ring for a long time, likely till it's firmly established 'fanon'. Very well done!
I didn't think I was going to like Mari, but I really do. I find myself wanting to know why she's sticking with John when he doesn't always treat her well. It's going to end for her, and probably end badly, and the best I can hope for her is that it's a clean break. Glad you enjoyed her appearance here.
I don't think this will reverberate the way you think; it dropped off the radar too quickly for most people to notice. Next time, I post a part a day and make people suffer. ;)
Phew, finally finished the whole thing. That was really good! You characterized Wally and Vixen perfectly. I loved her saying that she thinks John really did love her. There was nothing simple about their relationship.
I'm glad that after all the mourning there was a happy ending. Flash is the only person (not counting Superman) Kyle feels comfortable telling his secret to. These are guys that should be friends, but because of circumstances, they have obstacles to overcome before they can get there.
Vixen's got a lot of healing to do after this. Not sure yet if we're going to explore it, or just let people fill in their own gaps. You're absolutely right, though: what started out looking like a simple rebound fling has turned into a lot more!
I'm pretty sure Wally and Kyle are destined to be good buddies, so yes, I was glad they could get at least one foot in that direction. :)
Thanks for reading, and thanks for taking the time to comment so thoroughly! It's been like a second marathon writing session just thinking about and responding to the points you've brought up! It's kind of fun!
(Of course, now I want to find out what you think of Fuzzy End. *grin*)
