You regularly see people in distress. Most of them you send home, and they have some kind of life in spite of their drama. I expect that experience of deciding what's important and what's not can effect some calmness in you.

there is no god, the universe doesn't care, things happen for no reason, the only sense in this world is the one you impose on it, and consciousness is a byproduct of organic chemistry.
