Thinking about the reactions of the audience is really important for any creative work. If you ask me, people who say they don't care about what other people think are deluding themselves. Art of any kind, unless it's meant solely for the creator, is a communicative medium, and if you're not communicating something effectively then you're missing an essential component of your work.
