A Fish Called Wanda: The Musical

When I first heard that Eric Idle was making a musical version of the 'Holy Grail' I was a bit taken aback. How on earth can you make this wonderful epic and incredible funny movie into a musical?? Well, he and John Du Prez did a great job on it. I've watched it twice already and even though I was a bit disappointed at parts, it was still very ( Read more... )

I've got mixed feelings about this, I love the film sooooo much, it's often quoted in our house. I dread news like this in case it all turns out a disaster, but I guess I should have more faith in Cleese/Palin etc.

You mentioned Betrayed. You know you're my new best friend, right ;)

It's one of my favorite films too!! Me and my mum constantly quote the "What was the one in the middle?" quote!

I don't know how Cleese is going to work it into a musical...seems pretty weird to me. And as you said, I hope it's not a disaster. i was thinking about who they may cast, and even though Nathan is the king of Broadway I can't see him in any role in this. I'm waiting to see if they're finally gonna do the Addam's Family musical, which he's going to be PERFECT for!

Betrayed is one of my favorite songs from the Producers! And the Producers is of course my favorite musical!

I wouldn't worry, John is so particular with what he thinks is good he wouldn't release something that's going to fall flat on it's face.

Yeah, he really does focus on the nitty gritty. Still, I wonder how on earth he's going to make it work. Especially with a stuttering Ken and a homicidal Otto!

yerrr it's definitely one we'll have to see before we judge. If it was anyone other than Cleesey I'd be worried :')

The other thing that worries me is that John doesn't really have a musical streak; as opposed to Eric who did the Grail musical.
