Looks like a nice upgrade! I definitely agree on waiting for HDD prices to come down, I'm in the same boat on that one. I like the top case, it certainly is the nicest looking one of the three. I personally don't like the big door on the front of the middle case. I hope this will help, I can't wait to read more of your updates. :)

So wait, are you making like a frankenstein computer from scratch? If you are, that's awesome! (i hope you aren't offended with the 'frankestein' thing, i mean since you're choosing everything invovled in it)

And for choosing the case thing, I like the third one. It looks somewhat industrial ^_^

How much did all of this cost to make your own computer? (if you dont mind me asking)
As you can see, I'm not very computer/technical stuff literate lol.

Yep! Going to be ordering and putting together all the part by myself! It's exciting. Total build, including $100 for Windows and $200 for the new monitor, comes to ~$1100-$1200 depending on rebates and which specs (case, etc.) I end up choosing. So if you have an OS and monitor already, that's an $800-$900 build. We were comparing it to a similar pre-built model from a site like Maingear, and it ended up being around $350 cheaper to do it myself, and of course now it gets to be customized to have exactly what I want! Which is both fun and a little exhausting-so many decisions ( ... )

If you played with Lego as a child, you can build a computer. :) The hardest part is chosing the right parts so everything works well together.

As for cases, I think the first one is the best looking one, after that comes #3.

Thanks for the input! I'm currently bouncing back between #1 and #3 myself (doesn't help that there's a Fractal Design Case Club forum full of cool mods that I can drool over--or does it?!).

Hope you're right about the build part, too. Not only did I go to Legoland as I child, I went to THE Legoland in Denmark. Less impressive when you consider we lived in Germany at the time, but still!
