As discussed a ways back, the
Castaway kids are sort of an unofficial family in Ste-Margo-- both in the sense that they're not actually related to one another and in the sense that I don't think I'll count them in my population stats until they join up with another household. I'm playing their round with minimal (for me) intervention, which also seems fitting for a bunch of runaway teens living on their own.
[By the way, it's a sign of my utter lack of awareness of all things Sim that it didn't even occur to me that there was a Sims: Castaway Stories until I started searching for CC for their lot... *forehead slap*]
There had originally been a series of public beaches lining the shores of the old village of Sainte-Margo, but by the time the settlers arrived, most of them had been returned to nature. Just next door to the one that was restored for the town, however, another beach remains in its abandoned state. This is where the Castaways have staked their claim.
There's a small bit of park at street level, and lucky for them, some bathroom facilities that still function properly. Most of their time, though, is spent down on the beach itself, which gives them a little more privacy-- useful when you don't want to attract too much attention from nosy adults!
Jayne, what are you doing? Are you making sandwiches or
playing a theremin? /counter height animation fail
Nope.
Time for digging. Gotta keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.
They set up a table to sell the "treasures" they uncover. Guess who's first up?
Yes, yes! Come! Buy our crap!
Every time I tried sending someone to the bathroom, they would just go in, then turn around and come right back out. That bad, I guess.
So I had to build a new toilet. This was always here.
Marco thinks sunset is the perfect time to start working on your tan!
(Ha ha, YA BURNT!)
Wanna play kicky bag until 3 AM?
OK, sounds good!
In yo' FACE, Marco! PAPER beats ROCK!
Una: "I don't care if it's raining right now. I do what I want."
Jayne: (Omigod, that sunburn! How embarrassing for you!)
Hee.
Marco is unperturbed. (And still dreamy!)
Una: "Hey, this looks like an excellent place for our homework to go!"
Marco: "I concur; it is The Best Place!"
Jayne has Penelope over after school. These two are deep, deep in the throes of puppy love, as only two ultra-hormonal teenagers can be. They're kind of sickeningly happy-- but hey, they're just two crazy kids with stars in their eyes! Let's not begrudge them that. So, a Puppy Love Montage:
(omgsocute! ilu!)
Aw.
Marco seems to have changed his tune
since we last saw him. God, teenagers are fickle. So many hormones. So little impulse control.
Eustacia can't quite wrap her head around it either. I don't blame you, sweetpea. (Either that, or she can't believe what base Jayne and Penelope have gotten to.)
*dorky smile <3
Marco: *reconsidering desire to befriend*
(I noticed this last time, but what is up with Eustacia's fingertips? Some weirdness with the Thierry skin in the teen stage? Curses, Thierry!) (Or perhaps it's a bit of
greyscale?)
More merry-go-round!
Spin!
Spin!
Never stop spinning!
Una: *wishes she were spinning*
J + P = <3 4eva
And so the Castaways make a home for themselves. For now, at least.
