Performing in San Francisco

In San Francisco on Thursday, January 12th, Fiddleback, thisisstar and I are performing an hour long set of music, poetry and visual art (following an hour long set by local poet Sam Sax). The venue is "The Lost Church" at 65 Capp Street. Doors open at 7:30pm, and there is a $10 cover ( Read more... )

I didn't know you knew thisisstar. I don't know how I connected with her (maybe it was through you), but followed her art and music on her livejournal until she stopped writing there.

that will be an awesome show.

I met Star at a hotel room cipher at NPS 2002 (it might've been '03), but we didn't really start getting to know each other until I lived in Boston in 2004. Though no longer involved in slam, she continues to be all kinds of awesome. We haven't performed together since '04, and I'm super excited about it.

Awesome-- I look forward to finally meeting you in person!

Also, if you can, please spread the word-- I'm not sure what kind of publicity, if any, the venue is doing, but they're expecting us to guarantee at least 35 seats filled.

There is not; I know I ought to make one, but my attitude toward self promotion is uneasy at best.

Also:

it turns out Sam is unable to make the show-- he'd forgotten that he hosts his own show the same night. Would you be interested in filling in for the first set? I can offer you half of my cut of the door (which is 60%).
