CMT wouldn't play most of this stuff.

Everything Jolie Holland has ever recorded is gold. Especially "Alley Flowers," "Black Stars," and "Old Fashioned Morphine."

I don't know exactly what you're into, but we seem to be into a lot of the same stuff, so I will just suggest things I love.

All of Loretta Lynn's newest album Van Lear Rose (her collaboration with Jack White) is excellent. Specifically, try out "Portland, Oregon," "Have Mercy," and "Miss Being Mrs ( ... )

OMG welcome to the club, we are like two people of twenty who know anything about her. Yes, she was, and while I haven't actively heard anything by the Be Good Tanyas, I bet they were great. She's pretty fucking awesome alone. After hearing a couple of tracks that her record company had up for download, I literally downloaded every song she's ever released, and I intend to buy both of her CDs whenever I've got the cash.

Today I'm downloading tons of Joseph Arthur cos I love the song Honey And The Moon from the OC soundtrack... his stuff's just really chilled and relaxing :) xxx
