Well hello Livejournal. Long time no chat. I've peeked in on others' entries a few times, but haven't posted anything here in a really long time. Not a whole lot has changed for me since then, but let's give a rundown:

I don't know how things have changed in the past 20 years, but in my experience, colleges largely ignored AP classes taken before Junior year. I have no idea why it was that way, but it's something I found out as part of the actual application process.

Having AP credit accepted is going to depend a lot on where she winds up going. It's far more of a gamble than actual college credits. I'd say, if she has an opportunity to get actual college credit along with still getting a diploma, that's the way to go. I'm not sure how mandatory a diploma is nowadays - again, 20 years ago, some colleges required it and others didn't.

The best approach may be to have her pick out two or three universities she really wants to get into, and figure out how best to go about trying to get into them.
