Pictures of the Venetian . . . finally.

I went to my first SCA event EVER today, and had a good time. For it, I was planning on whipping up (cue maniacal laughter) out of this burgundy velvet I got for a song, but the fabric doesn't want to be that. It wants to be mid-sixteenth century Venetian. Very pretty!

I had the curve in the boning problem too. I'm actually going to remake my dress to wear with a corset because of that.

Thanks! I was hoping you'd commment, because I love your costumes. They always look so . . . finished. Well done. Well crafted.

I have a big problem with bust curves in my bodices. There's nearly a 12 inch difference between my waist and my bust, and it's all up front. The only way I can get a perfectly flat front is if it all spills out the top and that's so tacky. I thought three pieces of 1/2 inch steel boning would be enough, but nooooo.
