Yay, dresses!

ZOMG, everybody, I just got clearance from my sister to buy a bridesmaid dress for $30! And no dyed shoes! This is like every bridesmaid's dearest wish come true. Of course, there's a good chance that Ann Taylor will be all sold out of the dress I want to buy by tomorrow night when I order it. I hope not ( Read more... )

I love the ren faire. Unfortunately the one in New York was always in the stupid summer and much too hot to wear anything pretty. I made this pseudo dress I could wear a bra under and little else. Looks ok and wasn't stiffling.

I'm the only one thought. We wear 18th century more often so that's what I made for the fam. I really wish I had more time to sew and more reasons to wear historic costume, which would not go over well at the law firm.

I know about the heat. Here in the Midwest, we always end up going in August because that's my birthday month, and temps are always in the 80s and 90s. Ridiculous! I'm ready for another mini ice age every year around the beginning of July.

By the way, it seems like I've been consistently not getting your comments to my posts. :( I'm sorry if I've missed anything.

Maybe you could start a motion in the Northeast to adopt the traditional robes and caps of lawyers through the ages. :)

That dress is really pretty. I could almost get into it too, if I let the skirt out a little bit and went on a diet of nothing but salad for a few weeks and did some serious waist training. ;)

Hee hee. I say that to myself so often when browsing vintage clothes. "Hmm, if I get a really good corset and have a little breast reduction, then I could buy this and wear it. Everywhere!"

Of course! I'll probably post progress pics of whatever it is I end up wearing and the sister dress. (Post with dresses coming to a friends list near you soon.) So you'll probably spot us in the crowd.

I didn't find out about it until after I moved away from Whitewater. Grrr.

Here's the website. It's a lot smaller than Bristol.

You seriously called him a marmot-faced tool? That is just absurdly fantastic; I think I sprained something by stifling a laugh at work.

I did. He claimed I was determined to misunderstand him, but what he typed was stupid and nonsensical at its very core, so meh.

The thread has entered its third page. It is officially the longest thread I have ever started.
