Did you guys in the US really have the Thin Mints way back then? Dang it, that's not fair, we Guides in Canada didn't have those until the mid-nineties. (Obviously, I like that ficlet.)
Hmmm... that's a good question! I never thought about how long the cookies have been available; I seem to remember them from my own childhood. So you got me curious. :D Hence, a visit to Wikipedia!
"Thin Mints: The most enduring and universally familiar Girl Scout cookie. These round, mint-flavored cookies covered with dark chocolate perennially sell the most boxes of any cookie. Thin Mints have changed their name once. Up to the 1950's, these cookies were known as Chocolate Mints. These cookies have always come in a dark green box. Little Brownie Bakers and ABC make Thin Mints." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_Scout_cookie#Varieties_of_cookies)
Thank for reading and commenting! I'm please at the emotion you felt with Keinahora. :)
This will probably age me, but I was a brownie and girl scout in the early 80's and as I recall from the troop leader Thin mints had been our best seller for over ten years...
So very unfair! I would have been able to sell way more had we used those instead of the old style cookies. Probably a made-in-Canada thing. And I was a Guide in the mid-eighties, so don't worry too much about aging yourself ;)
I wanted you to know that I made some 100px x 100px House Gimp brushes. I know that you like house obviously and that you use gimp from your tutorials. I can't post them on my dA account, because they are against dA policy. But I thought that you might like them to use on your icons. If you are interested let me know and send me an email. I would be happy to send them as an attachment to your email or maybe I can find somewhere to upload them for you. I am so happy House is back tonight!
Aw, that is so sweet of you to think of me! I'd love them!
You might want to make them available to other by uploading them to sendspace.com or somewhere like that. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like them! Then you could post the link in an entry for others to get to. :)
