Holy crap, exorcist eyes! *laugh*

Canned air works excellently well for disciplining Kendra when she's where I don't want her to be. And a training trick I've seen used to keep cats off counters is to fill a styrofoam plate with water and leave it on the edge, where they will jump up and land in it.

If the cat hates water, then getting wet is gonna be traumatic, as they will flip that plate and the water just everywhere! ... does leave a bit of a mess for humans to clean up, but there only needs to be a few tablespoons of water in the plate. Works even better if you have shallow aluminum foil baking pans, but those are harder to come by -- they make big scary noise when they fall though.

Mister Mystery is adorable, and I hope that things work through and he has a permanent home with you guys.

They're very... Japanese. "Gi-gi" is his favorite, calling back to "Kiki's Delivery Service." I told him it sounds like a stripper, since the movie has no significance for me. There's also "BB," which I'm not fond of.

I like "Ranpo," for Edogawa Ranpo, famous mystery writer who took his pseudonym from Edgar Allen Poe, after whom I named my old cat. Plus, my dictionary lists "ranpo" (乱歩) as meaning "random walk," which is pretty much how we found him. The Boyfriend thinks is sounds too close to "chinpo," which means "penis." So there you go.

I thought about "Genji," but we're having him neutered so that would just be cruel. "Benkei" would be delightfully ironic, since he's microscopic and has pretty well cowed The Dog, who is literally ten times heavier than he. "Yoshitsune" would be more appropriate, but annoying to say and would just devolve into "Yoshi."

So yeah, still thinking about it....

I think nameless is a perfectly good name......and kitty proof....is impossible.......just stop trying now....or, you can childproof your cabinets and stuff...that MIGHT work. Maybe.
