So, the big news of the weekend - Sarah Palin is resigning as Governor of Alaska, without having finished her first term. The message to Alaskans that she posted doesn't give any real explanation for it, other than:I've never believed that I, nor anyone else, needs a title to do this - to make a difference... to HELP people. You know what quote I've always hated, which I'm reminded of by the "don't explain" quote?

"Love means never having to say you're sorry."

Uh, what?

In my experience, love means being willing and able to say you're sorry every single time it's warranted, which is often. But then, in my experience, "love" means "not acting like a freakin' douche bag."

Sarah wants to help people? Has she never seen Family Guy - Young Republicans, we help those who already have the means to help themselves.

Yeah, national office. Right. "Hi, I was the mayor of a town of 6,000 people who all get a state handout every year from oil money. Then I was elected governor, served for 30 months, and spent a tenth of those on the national trail with McCain. You betcha. Also."

This is someone who should have turned McCain down, hunkered down with her family, and been a good governor. Which is of course hard to do when you don't believe in government. - soulie
