If you've spent any length of the time in the La Femme Nikita fandom, the name Jaron is probably familiar to you. It was with a very heavy heart today that I read the news from catsma that Jaron had passed away.

This is sad news. I knew Jaron from the LFN conventions. Compiled a 'zine for her once. She was one of the most generous people in fandom I'd ever met, so giving and supportive of the fandom and the people in it.

"Generous" really is the first word that comes into my head when I think about her.

I've been out of the LFN fandom for a long time, but Jaron was not only a wonderful writer she was also a wonderful person. She was very encouraging to a newcomer and always took the time to read my pitiful offerings and make positive comments. As my mother would say, "She was a class act." There's not enough kindness in the world, and the lights will look a little dimmer today.

Thanks for posting this. Although it's sad news, I never would have known without you.

I'm glad I could pass it on. I was worried there would be folks who wouldn't check the old FFMB on a regular basis, and I wanted them to know.

I honestly don't know how Jaron found the time to read *and comment* as much as she did. She was just amazing when it came to encouraging other writers, no matter what genre they were writing.

I've had been better weeks, that's for sure, but they tend to pale into comparison with this sad news. *hugs you*
