I know I don't talk about Doctor Who very much here. This is not because I do not still adore the show (a habit of a lifetime is hard to break, after all) and Doctor/Rose. This is because I am so nervous about what lies ahead that I can barely bring myself to think about how this season is going to end, let along write meta

Old 'ships are SO hard to let go of. I recently became reacquainted with an old ship myself, one of a show that got cancelled 14, yes 14, years ago, and I'm still so mad that not only did the show get cancelled without resolving a mother of a cliffhanger, but we never got to see so much as a kiss between my favorite ship couple. (It was a great scifi show called Earth 2 and I miss it terribly. And I have nothing to comfort myself except reading and writing E2 fanfic.)
Here's hoping it turns out well for your once and future ships. Including the one involving that cute Michael Scofield guy and his lovely redhead doctor. :)

Billie Piper (the actress who plays Rose) has done a lot of work since leaving Doctor Who at the end of the second series and yep, one of those was "Diary of a Call Girl". I believe they're planning a second series of that. Her episodes in this series of Doctor Who finished filming quite a while ago - there are only 13 episodes in each 'season', so the actors/actresses do get the chance to do other things.
Earth 2 - that sounds familiar. Was it about a crew who were in space when the Earth was destroyed and then went back in time?
I know what you mean about hanging onto these things. I'm still furious with George Lucs for pulling the 'Luke and Leia are brother and sister' out of his arse. *g*

Earth 2 was a short-lived but often (often, though not always) brilliant scifi show that aired in the US from 1994-1995. It was produced by Steven Spielberg's company Amblin but the schmucks at NBC cancelled it after one season of 22 episodes. It took place sometime after the year 2100 where the Earth is so polluted that most people live in space stations in orbit; a woman whose son is dying funds an expedition to seek out and colonize an earth-like planet far away, but her expedition goes horribly wrong when their ship crashes and strands them on the planet.
