buffy and prison break and heads in boxes, oh my!

Don't you hate it when real life gets in the way of fangirling?

Work has been very busy (I'm training yet another 18 year old trainee) and RL has thrown a rather large curve ball (landlord selling house related, I'm afraid, something my husband hasn't taken too well) and it's been all I can do more than read my emails and skim the f-list once I finally wrestle the home computer away from said husand at night. Writing has gone on the backburner this week too, much to my disgust.

But!

#313 has aired and there has been chatter a-plenty and so many of you have said so many things to which I wanted to say, "Word!" that I'm stealing some time tonight to post a very simple statement regarding How I Feel About The State of Things. Just so you know, there will be snark.

Firstly, and rather randomly, here is a quote from the Buffy episode, "The Dark Ages".

Xander: What are you two up to?
Buffy: Just having a quick game of "anywhere but here."
Xander: Oh. Amy Yip at the waterslide park.
Willow: You never come up with anything new.
Xander: I'm just not fickle like you two, okay? I'm constant in my affections. Amy Yip at the waterslide park.

I've realised that, when it comes to Doctor Sara Tancredi, I'm a little like Xander Harris, constant to the point of being stubborn and quite possibly really, really annoying.

No Amy Yip at the waterslide park for me, though, because me, well, I'm all about the Morgue Lady from #301. Always have been, always will be, and nothing I've seen in canon so far has managed to make me change my mind. I'm not comfortable when it comes to self-pimping, but on this occasion it's easier than typing out a thesis that wouldn't make a lick of sense.

The Morgue Lady, an scarily uncanny Sara lookalike who was randomly inserted into #301 and never referenced again.

Smoke and Mirrors - the canon in my head and the reason why the possibility of Sara still being alive totally works for me. Coming up with this story in the wee small hours of the morning after #304 aired wasn't exactly rocket science. Imagine what people who are being PAID to write such things might actually come up with if they put their minds to it? The mind boggles. /snark

In closing, because I am tired and stressed (thank you, Real Life) I would just like to take this chance to remind my fellow fen that the fact some people are prefering to cling to hope and what enjoyment they can find shouldn't harsh anyone else's squee, as the kiddies say, in any way, shape or form. If it does, well, those folks might be spending a bit too much time worrying about what the Batshit Crazy Shippers (patent pending) are saying rather than enjoying their own shiny fandom things as nature intended. Shame on them. *g*
