*quibbles* Agatha Christie is not a "thriller" writer, she's a mystery writer. Most of her books are quite sedate. However, since I've read so many of her books, I'll be curious about that episode.
I'm still not sure about Donna as a companion...Mr. Bead read me a reference about the season opener and how she's re-introduced, and my first thought was, "But that doesn't sound like the Donna we saw in Runaway Bride." So right off the bat, it looks like the character is either being poorly developed or developed off-screen.
I always think of her as a crime writer, myself, but I'll forgive the BEEB because OMG AGATHA!!!!!!!!!!!1111
I'm eager to see Donna in relatively 'normal' circumstances, ie, not having just been beamed away from her own wedding and then finding out that her fiance is trying to kill her, lol!
I was somewhat conflicted about Donna-as-companion initially, but I went back and rewatched "Runaway Bride" recently and now I'm excited. They had a fun dynamic and one that's COMPLETELY different from the one the Doctor had with Rose and Martha. Donna's not terribly impressed by him and more than willing to call him out on his bullshit, and that'll make for a nice change. I can't deal with another angsty subtextual love drama right away.
