Yep, my sister is a jewelry freak. She has to go to quite a few dinners, since her hubby is a Shriner, and she has to impress...well, Shriner wives. Although she hides it well, she suffers from the same chronic social retardation that affects me and all the Reed children. She doesn't really want to talk to them, but has to "relate." She gets over it by hanging shiny things from her ear lobes and on her outfits just below the shoulder.
And how does she keep these Shriner wives dazzled without going broke? She kit-bashes jewelry she buys by the bucketful at garage sales, with her handy moto-tool and cyanoacrylic glue. Sometimes she dazzles the girls so much they drop their purses holding their miniature bottles of schnapps.
