The phillips (or is it Philips, as in Royal Dutch Philips?) screws in the Nerf Nitefinder gun are 1/8". Good old SAE. Since I found this fact out thanks to Richie kindly letting me use his "guitar repair ONLY, dammit!" set of mini-screwdrivers, I need to find my very own to, shall we say, "screw around" with my Nerf guns ( Read more... )

Best place to find those screwdrivers: Big Lots or the equivalent. (I think it's Odd Lots in some parts of the country.) Second best place: the occasional "bargain bins" of tools you sometimes see at gas stations. If you really have to have first quality, a good auto parts store will have them ( ... )

...and spray paint it with automotive paint. I've been given some very good advice from some people who do killer props. I will be using the same paint a Rebel Legion friend of mine used to paint my food capsules for my Jedi belt. It's great stuff and yields a truly metallic-feeling object regardless of what material you started out with. Like plastic, for example. Which is what the food capsules are made out of.
