My debut as a videographer on somone else's stuff has happened, and I didn't even know about it until today.

Congrats! My shots are hit or miss; if it's during the day, and/or I am awake enough, yeah they are OK. But as time goes on, and my arm grows tired, the quality decreases and the puke factor increases. If it's late at night and/or I'm super sleep dep'd, then it's Dramamine time. Also, large amounts of caffeine (say, maybe after 10 sodas or a few Red Bulls) tend to make me shake like a leaf, even if I am fully awake, as caffeine is wont to do. Now, large amounts of caffeine at 3 AM whhile sleep-dep'd? Third Impact, baby...

You might want to look into one of these for long stretches of shooting where you'd normally hand-hold it. I found one for very cheap on eBay because the guy who sold it put it under the wrong category.

Tripods and monopods are nice too, and can be used as a defensive weapon in a pinch. ^_^
