I cannot even begin to articulate how much difference the CPAP made in my life. I still have health issues aplenty, but dying by slow degrees because I stop breathing while I sleep? Not one of them.
When I first started on it, I lost a bit of weight, started eating better, and stopped having so many headaches. I also stopped having heartburn (like nine years later, I can count the number of times I've had heartburn since on one hand). It took me about two weeks to adjust, then another little bit to find a mask that really worked for me. Other people say it takes them longer to adjust. I guess I was just really ready.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm hopeful and yet worried that I'll be disappoint on how much/little it might help me. This constant exhaustion has gotten to the point where even just reading and posting replies is an energy draining chore :( I just want a life back.
I think once you adjust and if you use it all the time, you'll be pleased with the difference it makes for you. Mine is more than moderate, so it may not be as dramatic a difference as it was for me, but it'll still be noticeable.
