Author's note: Inspired by a toddler when I was strolling on the streets. A drabble turned one shot.

squeak...squeak squeak squeak...squeak squeak...

Jin stirred and groaned at his uncomfortable position, dozing off on his study table yet again.

squeak squeak...squeak squeak squeak squeak... squeak...

The ends of his lips couldn't help but be raised in anticipation as his groggy mind finally registered the squeaking sound as the sound coming from those toddler's shoe that would squeak whenever the toddler takes a step. The sound that reverberated around the house at any time of the day. Jin kept his eyes closed ad waited patiently.

When Shizuka first learnt how to walk, he bought her a pair of red shoes. He thought she would like it, squeaking with her every step. Indeed, she loved that little present. Jumping with joy, and chuckling happily. But ever since the day she don on that pair of shoes, she refused to walk if it was taken off. So for months, they have to bear with the squeaking sounds. But they soon got used to it seeing that there was no way they were going to succeed in coaxing Shizuka to walk without her shoes. Kazuya took the chance to buy a dozen more of different colors saying they are for used indoors.

He was soon greeted with a tentative pat on his left thigh, followed by a soft “Pa- Pa”.

Jin couldn't help but smirk, still he chose to keep his eyes closed, determined to not let the little one have her way without so much as to try. Kazuya shouldn't be able to get off with things so easily by sending Shizuka as his delegate.

When being continually ignored, the toddler grew more anxious, stomping on the spot with the unsteady squeak...squeak squeak...squeak squeak squeak and the gradually getting louder chants of “Pa- pa”. Yes, the tentative pat became increasingly violent slaps too, but it still felt like a light pat to Jin, albeit more frantic.

He decided to spare the little one with his teasing and slowly opened an eye to look at her sleepily, mumbling a low “yes?”

The little girl squeal in triumph seemingly to have accomplished her task, clapping her hands together in joy. Jin couldn't help but smile at her - his little bundle of joy. Well, their's to be exact, less Kazuya start with the “She does not only belong to you.” argument again. He couldn't help but chuckle at the memory of how the name of their daughter came about. There weren't any debates with the name of Shizuka, since both of them were fond of that particular kanji. The huge debate was over whose family name should their daughter adopt.

“I am the seme in this relationship, not only Shizuka, even YOU, Kazu should adopt Akanishi as your family name!” Jin announced proudly, conveniently forgetting that he's got a dominant uke(oxymoronic I know) in the house.

“No! You may top, but I'm the one making decisions in this household and I say we should go with Kamenashi!” Kazuya argued, totally annoyed by the smug look of Jin.

“Face it, Akanishi sounds so much cooler!” Jin retorted.

“Well, I am proud of my name! What's so great about the color Red and the direction West?” Kazuya sneered.

“Then tell me why's turtle and pear better?” Jin rebutted.

“I am so not giving in! You're topping me in everything!” Kazuya shrieked.

It was a long and painful argument but they eventually come to a compromise of naming their precious - Akakame Shizuka. A character each from their individual family name.

But Kazuya was still unhappy with the arrangement initially. Aka was in front of Kame, signifying Jin's superiority yet again. The result? Jin was really very lonely for a week. So much so that he had to befriend his own hand every night.

“DaDee-” Jin reeled from his reverie upon hearing the anxious screams of Shizuka.

“What's wrong baby?” Jin asked concerned, siting the little one on his lap.

“Nuh- O-!!!” Shizuka shook her head.

“What's wrong?” Jin probed.

“Nuh- O-!!! Zu...Sh...zu...Sh...zuuuuu...” she protested, sputtering her saliva all over Jin in an attempt to pronounce her own name.

“Not you too!” Jin whined. “What's wrong with being called a baby when you are indeed my baby?”

“Nuh- O-!!! Sh..zu...Sh...zuuuuuu~” she struggled away from Jin's hug.

“Zuuuuu~ Zuuuuuuu~ Dadee!!!!” she shrieked, pointing towards the door. It seemed that she had recalled her given task after that little distraction. Kazuya had sent little Shizuka to get Jin ready for dinner.

“OK! OK! Stop screaming!” Jin said blandly, carrying the little girl in one hand, heading out the door.

“Zuuuuu~Zuuuu~ Dadee!!!!” she continued, irritating the hell out of Jin.

He drank in the waft of hot sizzling pasta greedily when he entered the kitchen. Kazuya wheeled around upon hearing the joyous calls of “Da-dee” from behind him. It was times like these that reaffirmed his belief it was right to have adopted the little girl, their precious little one and their little bundle of joy

“Jin, lets have a baby too!” Kazuya smiled happily at his boyfriend, at the party celebrating his niece's First Month.

“Erm, the last time I checked, we're both man, Kazu?” Jin blurted out unthinkingly.

“Baka! We can adopt!” Kazuya berated, walking away.

“Oh right!” Jin grinned sheepishly, running back to Kazuya.

“So would you like to have a boy or a girl?” Jin tried to break the ice.

“Girl!” Kazuya shriek happily.

“But I want a boy!” Jin pouted.

“Girl! I want a girl!” Kazuya insisted, he adored his nieces.

“Fine, fine, I never knew you loved kids this much,” Jin chuckled.

The slightly chubby, fair beautiful girl was always bubbly. Sure she's got her moods but most of the time, she was always smiling brightly and laughing loudly. A cheerful addition to their already more than perfect relationship.

Both Kazuya and Jin loved the way Shizuka stared at them intently with her large hazel brown eyes, glazed with concern when her two daddies came home sighing after a long day of work. Even though she's just barely over a year old, she was unexpectedly considerate and caring.

“Pasta for dinner!” Jin cheered, tilting Kazuya's chin with his free hand and planted a chaste kiss on his lips.

They broke apart shortly after, when the overly-active Shizuka took to struggling away from Jin again. Her arms outstretched reaching for Kazuya, pouting, and seemingly asking for a kiss on the lips too.

Both Kazuya and Jin chuckled at her reaction. Kazuya leaned in to grant her wish, yet Jin chose to steer her away mischievously before their lips touched and he end up being the one who stole Kazuya's kiss again.

Shizuka wailed in frustration.

The cycle repeated until Kazuya decided it was time to end the childish “competition” did Shizuka finally get her kiss. Jin kissed his baby girl on the lips too as an apology for teasing her and the family settled down for a quiet dinner on a pleasant Sunday evening.
