Got the A-OK to return to work this am from my neurosurgeon. Will see him again in about a month after some x-rays are taken to see how things are healing on the inside. It was a relief to see him though as I've had right shoulder pain since my surgery (was not there before) and he explained that it was referred pain from what they do when they re-

Yes, and that will be an ongoing thing for a while. If you can find it in the budget, regular massage will help quite a bit. I assume he gave you stretches to do at home? If not, ask for some. Gentle stretching should also help a lot.
