I'd say Spike calling Doyle a Mick was borderline racist, but then, are vampires supposed to be PC? I guess he just uses whatever he can to wind anyone up.

Oh, I always thought that was cause Spike was British or something. Not to say that it's acceptable, but...and Spike also seems to treat any second hand man of Angel's extra harshly (like Wesley).

Also true to him using anything to wind someone up :P

"things not as high; not as firm..."

Let's get real--the only reason we had those minority slayers was for the show to meet some minority quota because there weren't any leads (or really even series regulars) who weren't white. Shortage of color? Then hey--let's make the two slayers Spike bested non white, just to prove a point that we indeed to have people of color on this show (for brief periods of time who usually end up dead).

Yes, agreed. I just don't see the point of getting angry at a fictional character when it's Joss and the writers who are clueless.

I think that if someone hates a character, there's no (stupid) reason too small :P

He was killing Slayers. He also came to Sunnydale to kill Buffy... because she was a SLAYER.

And I don't remember his ever having any issues with Gunn. In fact, that were reasonably friendly.

Yeah--he and Charles were quite chummy. Going out to drinks without the others...that's something you'd do with someone you liked.

Sorry, sweetie, but no. However, I am the Fairy Godmother of Verbal Usage. I know every jot and tittle of vocab, agreement, diction, punctuation, grammar, and so on. I Beta for some good writers, so if ever you need me, here I am. About the artists, I'll ask some other friends and see what I can find. And by the way, I'm only intermittently sane, and then too, on fairly rare occasions. Birds of a feather, sweetie. Hugs right back atcha.
Take care,
Marilyn

I very much agree. People sometimes see things that aren't there because they WANT to see them. The most ridiculous one of those is the "I'd rather be fighting you anyway" comment thing... Come on, Spike was fixated on Buffy already, she was the one he wanted to fight and kill, not the other slayer he had just recently met. How anyone can NOT see that, is beyond me.

I hope life gets kinder for you, I really do. There's always hope, don't give up.

Yeah, if the shoe had been on the other foot, and he'd been trying to kill Kendra for that long and had yet to succeed, the same thing would have happened.

Thanks so much. I'm going to keep on a truckin' :)
