I'm an usher. Yes, I have to sit in on the same play over and over, but if they let me sell ice creams then I can sit out in the kiosk. My first day was good, although the play is rather boring - I've seen two people walk out! Luckily it is just an hour and ten minutes and is a very short run. Usually productions are so amazing at the Almeida. Second day was even better because I worked in a different area and met new coworkers (and Cam wasn't there to make me feel safe, she's a head usher and obviously helped me get the job - we have a legacy of sorts because Clara worked there too back in the day). I was shadowing a lovely, small, bespectacled Frenchman who was so amazingly helpful. I had all these questions in my head that I didn't even need to ask because he kept telling me all the things I should know.
