Ok - so I'm pretty sure I planted two of my tomatoes and my eggplant too early. My rhubarb may be in the ground too early too - it doesn't look happy - we'll see how all these guys are doing in a week. If they recover from the chill - great! If not - they get yanked and new ones get tried...though I may try longer to keep the rhubarb going ( Read more... )

Heh. Oddly enough, I have interesting associations with stinging nettles. I once went on a first date with a guy who took me hunting for stinging nettles on Cougar Mountain. Best. First. Date. Evar. Srsly! :)

Oh, and yay for brewing your own beer - that's awesome! I <3 zymurgy.

I just googled this! Zymurge = brewing!

Awesome. We can have you over for some beer. Nettle beer doesn't last long and tastes more like a wine (so all the recipes say) so we'd need to have you over before the end of May being that we're still in April :)

Oh man, we get so many nettles it's insane. But not until later in the summer. I think elk mouths are immune to pretty much everything that annoys normal beings. It's like their super power.

Yeah - even humans CAN eat the nettles raw - I've witnessed a nettled eating contest on TV. But it's not for the weak of mouth. One guy killed his mouth with super hot sauce before he started the contest. His team won, b/c he couldn't feel anything after the hot sauce.
