Fun Monday question

What was the first album you ever owned? What medium was it?

Mine was Laura Branigan. It was a cassette and it wasn't what I wanted. Hehe. I wanted the one with Gloria on it. But I liked it. And insisted on more tapes immediately. :)

We had records and 8-tracks, of course, but the Laura cassette was the first one that was all mine.

Hrrmmm... We used to listen to Disney records when we were little. I don't think I could afford to buy music of my own until I was out of the house and on my own in my 20's. I think the first thing I bought was either Michele Jean Jarre (sp?) or maybe something by Kitaro.

I have an insanely extensive vinyl collection, and I'm not sure where it began, but I did have Thriller as soon as it came out, when I was 5 or 6. I listened to it so much I had to be given a second copy, 'cos the first one wore out! As I got a little older, I had a lot of Peter Gabriel, George Michael/WHAM!, Madonna, Janet Jackson, A-Ha, Duran Duran, Level 42 and INXS in my collection too. And of course I stole my parents' Beatles collection.
