Just a quick update for you all~
We've update our application forms a bit. We've imposed a one comment (two at absolute maximum) limit on backgrounds. Far too many apps are coming in with four and five comment backgrounds that are unnecessary and just slow down our processing. We can appreciate the level of work and detail being put into them,

1) What constitutes a "comment?"
2) As I know I was a total windbag, would like me to shorten and resubmit my Rufus ShinRa application? I tried to keep the b/g section to only what was relevant, but the rules is the rules.

Let "One comment" henceforth be known to refer to what can fit in one "comment box," much like the one you are currently reading. If, after entering all your background into one box, livejournal tells you that you've passed the character limit, then you must trim it down. Once again, if it can't fit in one message, it must be pared down.
As far as previously submitted applications though, don't worry your pretty head over it. If we require a revision we will request one explicitly on App-Day.
Thank you!

That sounds kind of impossible for a lot of characters.

We appreciate the incredible passion you feel for your characters and their backgrounds. However, Our purpose in reading applications is not to fully familiarize ourselves with every dirty little detail of your characters' torrid lives. You, as the player, must know them; we do not. We need to know just enough to understand how you plan to play these characters and (arguably more importantly) why you play them as you do.
If you find that there is no possible way to fit what you need to say in one comment, please feel free to contact any member of the mod team. We are here for one reason and that is to help you enjoy your time here.
Thanks you!

I think backgrounds end up being long for a lot of people BECAUSE other comms get picky about length- they bitch and whine if it's not long, haha!

We have just found over the years that often a lot of the background information can be unnecessary, and reading through walls of text that have little to do with the applications simply slows us down.
