The cake looks fantastic. I have no idea what to do with all the excess icing though. Perhaps a marzipan/icing nativity scene?

Thank you! I was thinking of adding the 3 magi after Christmas, so maybe they could be made of marzipan. My other idea was decadent sweeties made with marzipan and chocolate...

That is adorable. I once drew a shepherd tending his lamb on the Christmas cake, with icing pens, and all admired it until my aunt pointed out that they seemed to be enjoying an unnatural union.

Ha ha ha -there is at least 1cm of clearance between this wee fellow and his sheep (he is stuck with looking after them because he is the youngest, ie shortest, shepherd)
