24HR COMIC TIME

Oct 04, 2009 12:52

so i participated in this hoping to churn out 24 pages of an "awesome" comic with my "awesome" skills.

i only churned out 9 + 1/3 of pg 10 (note: lettering was done way after 24 hours were up.  really, who wants to read my horribly incorrigible handwriting?  i don't).  now my middle finger hurts probably due to pressing really hard with my fat eraser.

more notes at the end.  and now, onto the main (?) event:

(note: "used up last of it" is supposed to be "used up last of milk"  damn translating my handwriting.)

END NOTES:

what took up most of my time was this:

only to realize, in the final stretch, that i had planned it for 32 pages instead of 24.  huuuge math fail on my part.  but i needed to storyboard it else i would definitely forget.

this was a huge learning experience for me despite not completing the challenge.  i realized how much i've improved, what i can do, how much more i need to learn, and that reading too much yaoi would benefit me in some point.  i also realize how awful i am at coming up with dialogue, a complete weakness of mine.  they seem to come out of a b-rated movie or them cheesy novels so i completely apologize.

midway through, my computer kept crashing/bugging out so that occupied most of my focus.  currently, it seems fine.  we'll see.

maybe the story i chose was too ambitious, had too many complexities for it.  or maybe it had to do with me figuring out which two stories i'd in mindthat took up an hour.  i plan on finishing this first of all.  then maybe i'll polish it up with inks and such.  but most definitely finishing it off.  all the way to the 32 pages i'd planned for it, hahahaha.  i would love to do this again next year.

thanks for reading!  and would most definitely welcome comments, criticisms, and maybe bashing.  maybe.
