I am so nervous about the election. It's making me so weepy and nervous. I am quite jaded & won't trust that good things will happen until I know they have.
I keep having people ask me, "well, if YOUR candidate wins, won't that restore your faith in the system?"
Um... no. not really. My faith in the system has been really REALLY broken (see http://freedocumentaries.org/film.php?id=234 "Hacking Democracy"). Just because I am happy with the outcome, doesn't mean I don't feel that things still need to be fixed.
I just hope the election is won by large enough margins all across the board that there is no question of lawsuits.
I think the whole page-range count is a silly way to determine the length of a paper. I know, it's been done forever, it was done before either of us were born... But in this day and age

I'm so excited for the election results. Now that even Rove is predicting a huge Obama win, I feel really safe and happy.
I might be coming to Bellingham this weekend.. maybe Friday night to Saturday afternoonish. Could I crash on your couch or at least hang out with you? I really want to see you and talk and exude glee re: Obama!
Eep! sorry that I forgot to reply to this. Of course you are more than welcome to hang out and/or crash on the couch. It is sort of a horrible weekend, though. I am grading papers and have a all day long meeting on Saturday and am going to a poetry reading that saturday night, but you are always welcome. Let me know. Ugh. I hate the bad time of the quarter.
Actually, I've kind of decided not to. <3 I'm super exhausted already, and it's only Wednesday, AND I'm pretty far behind in Nano AND I think I'm going into work on Saturday.
I'm going to try to make it sometime before the end of this quarter, but I might have to put visiting off until 2009.
uh oh... the length-requirement nazi! your first comment reminds of a conversation that you, paige, and i had about the absurdity of length requirements for essays - at least i thought that was us. maybe with 101 folks it's necessary though.
I totally feel like a length-requirement Nazi! it is so frustrating. I never thought that I would do it. If the essays included sufficient analysis and evidence to support claims, I might not have a problem with shorter essays. The fact that they all needed more in both departments is what was frustrating.
