DRABBLE 2 : Coffee (Stargate SG-1, GEN)

More on the coffee prompt. Am stuck in the Stargate 'verse (not that I'm complaining, mind you). Anyone's welcome to try. Just a little writing for practice. Silly fun and come on, I bet some of you out there totally understood what Daniel said in here...LOL.

Cute. Always happy to have SG-1 fics from you, in any form. :)

Hee. I'm cheating by keeping them short because I have this habit of making them looooong and suddenly there would be kidnappings and Goa'ulds and Makepeace and Celine Dion singing Abba--oops, wrong fandom. *eg*

Like that would be a bad thing. *g* Well, Celine Dion singing Abba IS a bad thing but the rest is good. :)

Cute story. I've never learned Starbuckian. I still order smalls. I can remember venti but not tall.

Lovely. Fun. Clever. And I love Teal'c in this. Excuse me, I'd talk more but I have to go make coffee. :-)

First, I have to say : YUM@ fic!! Yes!! Glad to see you are feeling better. I've been browsing around here reading everything I've missed lately (NCIS? EMERGENCY? MAG 7? ok, some of it I've read before, but I ALWAYS have time for a re-read of your stories!)

That said - I loved this!! I can just picture it - Jack getting grumpier and grumpier as he waits for coffee (and breakfast), Daniel and Sam with their heads together, nose practically to the display glass as they decide what to get, Teal'c standing stoic and confused behind them, enjoying the the "science twins" like he'd enjoy his son's excitement, yet confused at the context, and his decision that it must be yet another of the languages that Daniel is fluent in.

And Jack's reaction at the end -- I can just SEE him throwing his head back with a big ol' laugh, even as Daniel gets a little red and flustered... and for weeks -- if not MONTHS -- Jack will be bringing up the fact that Daniel is fluent in Coffee...

Ha! I love it. Still grinning just thinking about it...

*snerk*

(Actually, I've probably bought about 5 times more coffee at Pilot truck stops on I-5 than at Starbucks...)

Gotta love Daniel's mastery of that 23rd. language, though there's NO surprise that he's fluent in Baristani...

I generally don't care to spend the extra $$ for the fancy stuff. I'm usually just drinking for the caffeine, and when I've put in Splenda and milk (or creamer, half-&-half, or whatever variety of "moo-juice" is there, fake or not), I really can't taste much difference between my own generic-brand or the Super-Primo Jamaican Blue Ribbon, or Neal Caffrey's favorite Italian roast, or whatever-the-frack organic, artisanal, or however-else-they-justify-charging-10-times-what-I-pay-at-CostCo stuff the Coffee Connoisseurs swear by ( ... )
