I was really shocked by House and extremely impressed by all the actors in that episode. The emotional content with both Kutner's death and the POWs illness was heart breaking. Cuddy, Wilson, Cameron and Chase especially had excellent scenes that finally gave them all something to sink their teeth into. And Taub at the end sitting and bowing his head...showing without telling and it packed a punch. And House in a tailspin and spiraling because he couldn't figure out the puzzle was brilliant. Because that is the reality of suicide. A seemingly well adjusted, happy, successful person can one day take their life and absolutely no one has any idea why and never does. No note, no prior indication, nothing at all to make it make sense. And for a character like House not to get an answer to something so huge? That was some seriously great character work. And Meatloaf and the actress playing his wife were really good as well and I found the patient story very unique and sad. I was just thoroughly impressed by the story and all the

I think I've become jaded and cynical about these kinds of plots. I'm sure the actors did a great job - I didn't watch very much of it, but they've got some quality actors there.

I guess I've become extremely fatigued when it comes to certain kinds of "drama." Shows do horrible things to characters at a drop of a hat these days, and I'm just really tired of it. I would guess that at one time killing off a character would be shocking. Now it's "hmm, must be a Tuesday." And every person TV-land kills off, the less it makes me want to get emotionally invested in any show in general. It's why I completely wrote off Robin Hood.

I was just reading the writers comments and it seems their thoughts mirrored how I reacted. I loved Kutner and am very sad to see him gone, but the interesting thing to me is House who is all about the answers, solving puzzles and observing things that no one else does not seeing this coming and not being able to figfure this out. Also Cuddy, Wilson, and Cameron all recognizing that and trying to steer him away from self destruction was true to character and helped build House's fall out. I enjoy character consistency and something that will get under the skin of that character and ai think this did that. But as a fan of Kutner, it is hard to see him go that way.

You should be in charge. Definitely.

unless they'll pull a surprise and have CT return in S5
That would be awesome! And isn't it a bit weird that we've known who 11 is for months, but no word yet on the regular companion? Although, if it were Catherine, I guess we'd be spoiled for it when they'd start filming in the Summer, which would ruin the Christmas specials...

I'm terribly afraid Donna is going to die. I can't shake Dalek Caan's prediction... the memory-wipe didn't fulfill it. And for Donna to somehow choose to regain her memories to save the Doctor and the world and then die because of it... would fit into RTD's mindset. But I can also see the Doctor giving up a regeneration for her. AAAGH! I'm going to go crazy in the next few months! One thing it's certain, it's going to be heart-breakingly amazing.

Yeah, I'd guess we'll find out soon enough then. I really kinda doubt it'll be Donna though. It sounds like they want to start with a clean slate in S5. Which could be good, or could be a misstep. In spite of what some grumble in fandom, there's a whole new generation watching (and actual new life to the show) *because* of what RTD did. The guy might write like a cracked-out squirrel at times, but he did something very right.

Oh wow, I like your thoughts! It ties in with what RTD has been saying about how awesome and twisty and strange it's going to be. And filming it would be easier too, I would imagine, considering how many people come and watch.

Hmmm....

RTD himself said it was going to be strange? HA! The crack must be off the charts this time!

Hee, he was on BBC News this morning, and they asked him if he'd cry when it was over and he said he'd laugh because it was going to be brilliant :D

The guys name was Kutner, and House is now dead to me. DEAD. They have been dangling 13 dying in front of my nose all season, and then they kill Kutner? Oh, House, you've done me wrong.

Meanwhile, have you seen this interview of awesome from The Times? It's between David Tennant and Russell T. Davies, and they are hilarious and adore each other. But in it, Davies essentially says he will not write a single word for Eleven. That Eleven will be entirely Moffat's creation.

They all seem to be taking this handing over of the reigns very seriously, and very clearly delineating the separation. Which I guess I understand, but is sad in that at least for now, we wouldn't get anything like your idea.

I still hold out the tiny glimmer of hope that Rose and TenII may appear in some form. But as you say, since the focus seems to be on Wilf/Donna, it would likely only be a glimpse of them on the other side. Perhaps when the regeneration happens.

It helps me to know that he wanted to leave the show, but still. MEH.

I'm finding it a bit strange that they want *such* a separation. From a show-running perspective, I find it all pretty weird.
