Taste of Home. Recipe porn as performed by your next-door neighbor. The upside: these are real-life favorite personal recipes, so odds are they're good. The downside: sometimes you run across the Grandma's Mayo Celery Jello-type recipes.

I can't be the only one who has a strange sort of fascination with this magazine...right?

I'm not sure if I'm into a cooking magazine that has frequent celery/mayo/jello recipes. *g* I tend to be a Cook's Illustrated or Fine Cooking (my new favorite) kind of girl.

Oooh, that Fine Cooking one looks fab! (Thought from looking at some of the pages: someday I will try making gnocchi from scratch.)

It's awesome! I've been getting Fine Cooking for about a year now and I find a recipe that I absolutely love in every issue. Sometimes two or three, which just a great track record.

Gnocchi from scratch are excellent, though I do like to have a partner to help me. I roll it out into a rod, cut it into pieces, and then my husband shapes them. Goes wicked fast and a few minutes later you're eating dinner.

It does look like it'd be pretty simple to do. I really am going to have to try it once the weather turns cool.
