I'm so frustrated after last nights episode. I really wish Heidi, Michael and Nina would have taken Kenley's attitude in judging. A good attitude is part of building a business. If Kenley wants to be a top fashion designer for hollywood, or whatever, she needs to be able to listen to her clients, especially when they're not happy with a little detail. Even if she had a design aesthetic I liked, I would never buy anything from her. At this point, I don't think it's the editing making her look obnoxious. Tim's mentioned it in his blog a couple of times; she really is that awful.
What I don't get is that if someone is using PR as a launchpad for their career, that they don't realize that future clients/employers actually *watch* the show. Even if she opens her own little shop, if she won't ever be able to listen to what people want, she won't make it. I think it's one thing to design clothes, but it's another to actually make a career out of it.
What has really bothered me this year (besides the mediocre designs) is that almost ALL of the designers act like whiny, spoiled four year olds. They don't listen, all they do is complain and insist that they are going to do it THEIR way and to hell with anyone else. Kenley's definitely been the worst, but she was not the only. If they just took the time to LISTEN and maybe consider that their way is not the only way, they would learn and benefit so much more. Not to mention that disrespect and a lack of professionalism will get you nowhere in the business world. >.<
I wonder - last season really didn't have a whole lot of drama. Christian got a bit annoying, but it really resulted in Chris saying things like, "ah, youth." I wonder if when they cast this season that they went overboard on personalities, sacrificing talent a bit.
Ah, Chris. LOL. I loved Chris. I think they must have forgotten about the whole talent bit this year. Because no one has really stood out. I like Korto's stuff and some of Leanne and Jerrell's, but if you compared them to most designers from the other seasons, they really wouldn't stand a chance.
What I loved about Season 3 (it's my favorite) was that they were all really talented and had interesting personalities that didn't = always bitching at each other. Yeah, there were some clashing moments, but for the most part, people like Kayne and Michael and Robert were interesting without being assholes. *sigh*
I think a lot of the designers this season were just too young. Or acted too young. >.< Ugh.
