Every fandom is different, and if you throw Tumblr in the mix they're even differenterOnce Upon a Time fandom on tumblr is a bit loopy to say the least. Oh, gods, I just put on happy music and hum my way through all the shipping ridiculousness. Pretty much ANY character is shippable with any other and as long as Belle/Rumpelstiltskin is not written in a gross way and the Emma/Regina fic doesn't get really smutty, I don't care, I don't care, mm-hmm-mm. Oh, and Snow/Charming is a given.

And we were doing so well! It wasn't all that long ago that we had to explain that the Rumbelle War was not a ship war per se but a strange competition to try to see which angst writer could make the most people cry. I refuse to hang around actual ship wars so I will stick my head in the sand as long as possible. WHICH INCLUDES AVOIDING TUMBLR TAGS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE WORST.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure I participated in just such a shipping fandom back in ye olden days of newsgroups and mailing lists. :-) Everything old is new again!

Oh man, newsgroups and mailing lists! It was a fairly good system, although I still think the best format for fandom is LJ. Too bad everyone loves tumblr.

There's a part of me that wants to come up with insane ships for OUaT. Like, Daniel/Gerhardt, or Bae/Gretel. Or Hook/Lancelot. I haven't had a chance to come up with the appropriate ship names for those, but give me some time, and I will. Ooo! Ruby/Pongo! Sneaky/Mulan!

...I am a terrible person.

Oh, and somewhere I saw someone refer to Dr. Whale/Ruby as Frankenwolf. Which...LOL.

I've seen the Frankenwolf label as well. This fandom luuuuuuuuurves its special ship names. I would go nuts if I actually shipped anything in this fandom. :D
