That is gorgeous. I love how truly alien it looks. The only quibble I have is that the hind leg kick maneuver doesn't look very practical with what I can see of that configuration of bones and muscles. So awesome!

Hmm... if it lowered it's forelegs so the belly faced back, and drew it's back foot up to it's chest, it could let fly with the whole power of back and leg.

That's what I like too. All power to Larry Niven, but while the concept of the puppeteer was a good one, it looks like a collection of spare animal parts. I specifically asked Mr Ries to make something both more holistic, and more alien.
